The second collection of the French brand Atelier St Eustache was released in September 2019.
You welcomed it with great enthusiasm , we lost count of the orders! And as an echo to the inspirational article on the first Tokyo collection, I suggest today that we retrace the steps of this collection inspired by the English capital.
➡ An adopted city for a year
It is because Violette lived there that London particularly appeals to St Eustache. She worked there for a year and a half . Time to discover all the curiosities, and to perfect her English. Behind this short expatriation there is a real desire to live an experience abroad . It was since she was 15 that Violette wanted to leave after her BAC to discover life in an English-speaking country. She therefore chose London .
➡ London, a modern and cosmopolitan capital
London is known for its diversity of atmosphere and neighborhoods. Between Notting Hill and Camden, Brixton and Soho, there is so much to discover. Different architectures, buildings with unique shapes , this city is overflowing with things to see! And Violette was able to draw inspiration from this to create 5 different models .
➡ A graphic and glittery collection
As a second muse, Violette chose London as if to echo her personal story . The designer continued to use her experiences to draw and tell a story through her new models. As she had done for Tokyo. But to learn more about this part of the story: go to the article that talks about it !
So here is the composition of this second collection imagined in France and head in England.
LONDON EYE 🎡
This model with delicate pompoms was designed with inspiration from the gondolas of the London Eye. A feminine design that rose into the sky to end up at your feet . It is also a sock that is worn inside out , to give the pompoms their "ruffled" side!
TATE MODERN 🏭
This model is inspired by the facade of the very famous Tate Gallery modern art museum. The premises were in fact a former disused electrical factory , hence its very massive and graphic architecture. A godsend for Violette who chose to make it the most glittery model in the collection!
FLOWER OF LONDON 🌺
This model required a little more research for Violette, she was inspired by the map of London, the cutting of the main most central districts formed a floral shape. Poetry then interfered in the creation of this sock.
NOTTING HILL 🏛
Here again, Violette drew on the city's plans and urban fabric . The design formed by the streets then inspired the designer: lines and curves that stand out to rub shoulders on this model .
THAMES 🌊
This famous river known to all naturally inspired a pattern full of curves in Violette. It is first by the drawing of the zigzagging road that he traced that this model was imagined, but one can also think of the movement of the water which forms light waves.
There you have it, you know everything about the inspirations for the models in the London collection by Atelier St Eustache and about the designer's life in this magnificent city.
