L'organisation du calendrier de l'Avent

Organizing the Advent Calendar

Posted by Adèle Beaucoup on

Here is a BACKSTAGE article where we will explain to you how this great Advent calendar was organized.

FOR WHAT ?

First of all, some explanations on why and how this idea came to us.

At Atelier St Eustache, we are committed to introducing you to other creators who do remarkable work. We do this through blog articles, such as that of Lucienne Paris for example.

But during this month of December, we wanted to see bigger .

We also aim to grow our brand, make it known and prosper. These two desires therefore imposed themselves on us. And the idea matured.

We decided in September to organize an Advent calendar on Instagram .

The contest is a way like many others to make yourself known by sharing the community of another creator . It is a way to acquire notoriety while pleasing our community. A dream opportunity for us!

HOW ?
👉 First step

First of all, we had to choose the designers we were going to collaborate with. The selection was long and sometimes difficult. There are so many designers to discover!

The selection was therefore made little by little. It happened that many creators were already organizing something similar. Their December months were already booked, this allowed us to add a creator to our list.

Once the 12 collaborations were in place, the Advent calendar took shape!

👉 Second step

Then we started working with the creators on which creations they wanted to win. We gave them the choice. Some had a real preference, and others asked for our opinion. Every creator is different, and that makes the work all the more interesting .

Once all the responses of the elected products were received, we started to think about the concordance of the creations and the socks . In order to form lots with a real identity, we matched the style and graphics with the socks according to the designer products.

We developed a reflection board so that we could observe all the lots and appreciate at a glance this graphic identity that we were looking for.

We then set the dates and order of appearance for the 12 creators. Some had imperatives, so we took their obligations into account and managed to find a "schedule" that suited everyone.

👉 Third step

With the preparation phase over, we moved on to the creative phase . Now it was time to create all the visuals needed to set up our Advent calendar.

So we looked for a photographer in Lyon , and our choice fell on Aude Lemaitre who then told us about the photo studio Le Studio Quotidien . Our photo shoot was being set up. Now it was up to us to prepare it.

Preparing a photoshoot means thinking about the mood of the photos you want. It also means buying the materials and decorations needed to create this mood. And of course, you had to receive the 12 products from the designers.

So we left one Wednesday morning with a lot of stuff under our arms towards Le Studio Quotidien, where we met Aude. The photo shoot could begin.

👉 Fourth step

For this final step, we had to create all the visuals that you see every day in the story. A creative work on computer software. Once the framework was created, it had to be declined (and varied) for the 12 creators. A long-term work that closed an entire organization over several months.

We also had to prepare the photos you see in the Instagram feed, crop them to the right size to ensure easy reading. We also wrote all the texts you have been reading since December 1st . Except of course for the story of the brands we present to you. Here, the creators provided us with a "brief", that is to say a presentation text on which we relied to create the creator's presentation story.

Each creator received a file with all their visuals, their texts and "tutorials" if necessary, which we had created for them. A procedure to follow was also sent to them in order to explain to them the progress of this competition.

👉 Fifth step

Enjoy! Seeing that you like the contests, that the winners are happy to receive their package. Being able to observe this satisfaction through your comments, likes and shares is priceless.

The Advent calendar is not over yet! We are halfway through, there is still time to try your luck!
Come join us on Instagram to discover the 6 latest creators and what we have concocted for you for this end of year ✨
